Michael Dugan is Chief Technology Officer of Forbes Media.  He was previously the Senior Vice President of Technology.  He joined Forbes Media in March 2000 as Group Channel Director for Forbes.com.

Michael is responsible for all software, systems and network engineering teams in support of Forbes print and digital publishing and website platforms including the licensable Falcon Platform.  His responsibilities also include Forbes corporate information and communication systems and data center hosting environment.  He works closely with all department leaders within the organization and with external partners and service providers in the planning, development and support of any technology dependent initiatives.

In addition to leading technology innovation, Michael ensures that Forbes production systems are performing efficiently at scale and compliant with the latest in evolving data privacy guidelines and regulations.  He is data driven and employs a variety of in-house solutions and web analytics partners to provide the organization with insight into traffic sources, content consumption and audience behavior.  His work on unique visitor tracking and recommendation engines for Forbes has been published in a machine learning conference paper (ECML-PKDD 2012) and submitted for review to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to joining Forbes Media, Michael was an Information Technology Project Leader at Home Box Office (HBO) from 1997-2000.  He began his career as an Associate Programmer Analyst at Prodigy Communications and is a graduate of Fordham University.
