Angela Matusik is the Executive Editor of Digital at InStyle. In addition to overseeing day-to-day publishing at InStyle.com, Matusik also leads the brand's social media strategy across all platforms–with a total reach of over 7.8 million.
Matusik is a media executive with over twenty years experience building brands and creating engaging content for women. She has had a crucial role in defining industry leaders, such as InStyle, People’s StyleWatch and NBC’s iVillage, driving voice and missions, creating and leading teams, and spearheading new platforms that drive audience and revenue growth. As an independent consultant, she has worked on the launch of startups such as ArcheType.Me, BeautifulNow, UpWave and 1010ParkPlace. She is also the founder of the pioneering home and décor blog, Shelterrific, which she began in 2006.
With a deep knowledge of the style, fashion and beauty space, Matusik began her career at Harper’s Bazaar in the early 90s, always striving to create accessible ways to help women feel, look and live their best. Following Bazaar, she joined Time Inc as one the founding editors of InStyle magazine, from 1994 to 2003, Matusik was responsible for creating and overseeing some of the magazine's most popular features and sections. In 2000, Matusik developed and launched InStyle.com. While at Time Inc., she also worked on several developmental projects, exploring magazine and website concepts for the women's market, in topics ranging from décor to relationships.
In 2004, Matusik worked on the launch of Hearst's Shop Etc. and Conde Nast's Domino magazine, where she developed their site, dominomag.com. In 2005, she was named editor-in-chief of Budget Living magazine where she served until its closing in 2006. Since then, Matusik has turned her focus exclusively to digital media and emerging social media platforms. Her leading digital roles include Development Editor at People.com, where she oversaw the launch of the celebrity style channel, StyleWatch, People Digital's acquisition of Celebrity Baby Blog, and the launch of People's Pets.
Matusik took on the role of Chief Content Executive for iVillage at NBC-Universal for three years in 2009. She returned to the lead digital spot at InStyle in Spring 2013
Originally from Niagara Falls, NY, Matusik has a BS from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications. She resides in New Jersey with her husband and daughter.
